800 has the dark contact theme working properly, 821 did not for me.

    Non-destructive loads in both cases.
It was the opposite for me. Just goes to show how strange this business is.

Ending up using autoloaders to fix little things here and there.

What if you install debrick OS 821 + radio 822 and after that you sideload the newer bar apps (13 applications) from 800 which link is in other thread, so you will get the newest OS and radio while you also get the newest applications

    STA100-2
Not really. 800 has a higher build number and is newer code. 821 is actually the same OS as 797.

    Overall, super close builds anyway.

i believe there are other browsers that can be downloaded . I am going to download 800 tonight and test that theory tonight

The browser bar file is really just a ui. The browser functionality is actually built into the OS itself.

All OS things being essentially equal, would lead me to 800 for the newer app versions, although there might not be much difference even there. I assume that the contacts issue fix was relative to a builder older than either 800 or 821. Messed up contacts is not something I would like to bring on myself again.

So in general, which is better; 821 or 800 (in terms of smoothness, android runtime etc)? I'm running 821 but I've experienced a bit like lagging with sometimes swiping up words doesn't work. For people on 821, what's the experience like and is it better than 821?

    Thanks in advance

Tried both... I prefer 800 over 821. Overall device responsiveness, keyboard, and battery has been much better on 800.

It doesn't work for me on .1418, that's why I asked. Works for everything else, even Facebook, but not bbm.

Better yet, there's no answer for that question, whatever you decide to go with will be fine. After all, there's no difference whatsoever . Jajaj you still want an answer? Ask yourself which number you like the most.

Same here buddy, this happened to me in both Os'es ( .800 &. 821). I don't know what causes it, but it bothers me. I hate things being downloaded into my phone without my consent. But as much as I hate that, I can't go back, this Os is much better! .

Loaded 800 over 821. 821 was very bad on battery for me and seemed "twitchy". 800 is "acceptable" on battery but not as good as 10.2.1 and 10.3.0. Although I have to admit I am now using a WiFi access point that is much further away than I normally do. Maybe this causes the radio to drain faster?

Also 800 seems better in general to me for this Z30 . Smoother, more fluid. Sms and MMS are working for me on Verizon. I don't use VVM

    Radio seems fine.

    Use google translate.

Having looked at the files, I think there is only an updated audio driver and component in 800. All the other changes (nfc, bbm in PIM, cascades, contacts UI extension, etc.) are probably just due to the change in build number or to fix typos. Some typos can be important as a library could be calling the wrong function name, etc., but we can't know unless we decompile all these libraries, which I won't waste time doing.

Oh and the apps are the same as well. Probably recompiled with a different switch. 800 is a dev OS and 821 a production OS or vice-versa.
Android in 821 has some duplicated ringtones, because they were probably testing something with the VM.

800 has good drain profiles (battery) on Wifi but both have poor power consumption on cell data other than 2.5G. LTE and HSPA+ drain is horrendous for both; it's a radio issue as there's no drain showing up in the device monitor (and that does track pretty-much everything else.)

Just the opposite for me. Went from 10.3.0.1154 to 800/801 Sachesi and the contacts won't save changes in settings nor will it toggle back and forth between the white and dark themes. This happened in the eariy 10.0 builds as well. Guess I'll go to 938 as no one seems to know a fix for this issue. A real issue for me as I sync only with outlook.com contacts. Also it keeps popping up the AT&T address book which I don't use and can't figure out how to delete. Any ideas?
