I am currently running 10.3.0.296, and although it's a leak, I like it and I use it as my daily driver. I have heard about 10.3.0.700 being a os for developers and missing some crucial items, like music and stuff like that. I wanted to give 10.3.0.700 a try for a day or two, but I don't know whether it's worth it. I know that you have download the missing items but I already know where to get them: forums.crackberry.com/bb10-leaked-beta-os-f395/updated-bar-files-10-3-0-700-a-941849/

I was just as that with all the missing items downloaded into. 700, is the finished product actually any better then. 296 in terms of performance, features etc.

    Thanks,
    Carlos .

    In a word..... NO!
It's doable if you don't mind dealing with the missing items and so on.
No matter how you do it though, it's not a stable OS, but if you know what you're doing check it out and see what it has to offer.
I did and loved it but again, it's not stable.
I've been running the .296 OS with the .app pack on my Z10 for months and it's a nice stable OS. (imo, of course!)

Try it yourself.... but after several attempts to load 10.3.0.700 and the various recommended Bar Files and Hard Resets.... smoother is not a word I would use.

But their are a few they have apparently found just the right hardware/OS/Application combination...

Been working pretty smooth for me. Loaded it last night with the bars posted. Only issue I've seen is pic/vid editing so far. Not sure what's wrong with the clock but it seems to be working for me.

I would say it's worth it to load em up. You can always go back.

Oh and my IA(Intelligent Assistant) doesn't work. I think I over did it on those bars.

BlackBerry Protect is a deal breaker for me, so 10.3.0.700 is not an option. I also depend on Evernote integration with Remember app, bedside mode, and clock alarms. All of this is a no-go with the Dev OS.

Just install the missing bars from the other thread.
You're gonna have to play around with it to get some things to work.

No, you can't. These are OS functions, and no bar files will help.

Conite : have you tried it yourself? Your comments seems as if you have tried and used the 10.3.0.700

I've used 10.3.0.700 for about 10 days and it is much smoother than 10.3.0.296

No two people use their device exactly the same way, so what may work good for one, may cause headaches for another.
    Bottom line...
Neither OS is completely ready for prime time.
As long as you understand that and are comfortable experimenting... go for it!
    You can always downgrade.

Just remember to back up your device before doing anything else.

Yes I have. It is well documented that the things I listed (BlackBerry Protect, Evernote integration with Remember, clock alarms and Bedside mode), as well as remote file access do not work on 10.3.0.700.

Are you saying you have these things working? If you do, then quickly start a thread and tell the world. Many of the BlackBerry Gurus around here would be jumping for joy!

Are you saying you are the one and only person who has all the features I just listed working in 10.3.0.700?

If so, please enlighten the CB community as to how you did that.

Remote file access works with me? I can use my desktop to view and edit files on my device using wifi.

This is not what I referred to as "remote file access". What I am talking about is having remote drives available to the file manager app on the device.

It's much smoother for me then 296 was but just be sure to make a settings backup on 296 to restore with on 700 to enable the missing features.

Also you will have to load the missing bars manually.

If I restored my backup then I don't have to download the missing bar right?

You still have to. But restoring settings will recover ring tones and panoramic images

So in general,. 700 is better then .296? I have heard that Blackberry Protect doesn't work and Remote File Access doesn't work. What does that mean? Could someone let me know what features don't work on. 700 even with the missing bar files loaded?

    Thanks,
    Carlos.

I have Remember integration with Evernote and remote file access via file manager working without any flaws on STL100-1 from day one. Only alarm, BBM voice, protect, and bedside mode not working and the OS is great as a daily driver.

Good to know. I've heard mixed results on these two things. Strangely, even the BlackBerry Dev release notes say these don't work. They did not appear to work for me when I tried it.

A third party alarm clock android app would work too (as long as you remember to keep the active frame open overnight).

I guess it comes down to BlackBerry Protect and Bedside Mode for me, as I do not use bbm voice.

I just could not get the Phone Sound Notifications to work.... tried all the changes and reboots... Only option that did work was HUB++.

For me the 10.2.0.296 Hybrid has been the best option so far. But I think depending on what Device, what Version, and the Phase of the Moon... everyone gets different results.
