A security wipe does fix such issues.

Try setting a custom ring tone. This fixed problem for me!

EDIT: It worked for awhile, had to do a restart and not working again......seems to be very hit and miss.

I just use HUB++ for the ring tone.
Wiping didn't do anything for me. I do it after after running autoloader

I keep losing the ringtone. Just went back to 10.2.1. To many issues still for me. 10.3 looks very promising though.

I had this problem too. Notifications would be fine on 10.3.0.700 until I installed all the 296 bars. Yes, that includes doing a security wipe before installing the 296 bars, hard reboots, etc.

What worked for me was not to install all the 296 bars. I think the ones with 'nuance' in them (voice control) are the problem. But I also didn't bother installing the retail ones, fuse, or bug report either.

Just removing the nuance bars didn't fix the problem. I did a security wipe again and loaded the bars without the voice control ones. And it works now. I don't use voice control anyway.

That's my experience... hope it's helpful.

I would like to revive this thread and add to the following.

Some are reporting, that the ringtone remains even after ANY kind of re-reboot (Battery-pull, Volume Buttons held down or Stand-by button re-start).

Others say otherwise. I for once gave up and was using HUB++, since the ringtone always went away after ANY re-boot. Today for that matter, I decided to give 10.2 a spin again (10.2.1.412144 to be exact). My main reason for doing this, was to actually set my daily alarm and then use Blackberry Link to save The "Settings" to later restore those settings to 10.3.0.700.

While doing so, I also backed up the ringtone settings, but using a stock ringtone, like Zen or the T-mobile Jingle (depends on your carrier). I usually see 2 ringtones there anyways after loading .700, which are the 2 mentioned above. So anyways, I proceed to get 10.3.0.700 back up and running and restored the settings from 10.2.1.4121 (Maybe other variant of 10.2.1 works is my wild guess). I can confirm and willing to share my settings file back-up, that, battery pull, volume buttons reset and standby button reset. Ringer still works. I will try and set any other custom ringtone asides from the stock one to see how that goes.

P.S. Currently re-installing everything once again to re-confirm.

*EDIT* Had my hopes too high. Stopped working again after re-confirming it.
*EDIT#2* Ringtone remains ONLY if battery is pulled to restart the phone. Via Volume keys and Mute button restarts, ringtone defaults back to non-ringing.

Had the ringtone issue as well after loading the pre-update pack from this link:-

    http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...9/index17.html

Re-installed the 10.3.0.700 SDK and ringtone is back. Progressively loading the bars and so far so good.

On a side note Porsche clock is working.

This is what works for me, choose a ring tone then side load 10.3.0.296 settings.bar, re-start phone check ringtone working then side load settings.bar from the updated 10.3.0.700 bar files. Restart phone again.
I've since side loaded the original SDK Settings.bar which is still working after a number of re boots.

I stand correct. If you backup your ringtone settings from a 10.2.1 OS and restore those settings into .700. You will be able to reboot your phone ONLY via battery pull (which is a good thing since we can restart the phone at least one way) but if you hold volume up and down buttons to restart the phone, ringtone settings will default to non-ringing. Weird.

P.S. Have pulled battery 3 times and still retains the ringtone. I don't want to try and re-start from Mute nor Volume keys. Its working fine for me and my battery pulls. Make sure the ringtone file/name also exists in .700 to make sure.
