Has anyone else noticed the notification toasts have been 'borrowed' from the Android OS?

This has been known for months (4-6months) back when 10.3.0.140. It is nothing new.

So a square box with text in it overtop of what ever is displayed on the screen is 'stolen' from Android, wow, amazing that my old atari 800xl was able to see so far in the future to steal this from android, as well as the old ansi art. Amazing.

Haha. Isn't this one of the first UI elements ever created? I remember it being the first thing I ever learned to do in Java.

The two are nothing alike! BlackBerry switched the words around and also gave their pop up box Passport corners.

But in all seriousness, I've always felt that BB10's biggest problem is it doesn't feel like a unique product. BB10 has the UI, gestures and multitasking of Meego/WebOS, the apps, toast and other smaller hints of Android, and the unified inbox of legacy OS. Nothing about BB10 feels truly unique. All of that is just my opinion of course. I would like for them to come out with something that is new and fresh, but it seems like we are getting more of the inspired by or borrowed from kind of stuff.

WebOS had a great and probably the best mobile UI of it's time. That's kinda what drew me to bb10 with the gesture interface on top of a qnx core.

I really wish I had tried Web OS. Back in its day I was deeply entrenched in the Sidekick platform and unwilling to try anything else.

Your picture shows an older version of Android. That’s not how it looks with the current Holo theme. I think the OP means that the style of the toast looks very similar on Android. A rectangle with a thick shadow underneath is definitely something Android has. Overall, I notice that BlackBerry 10.3 did adopt many of the underlying design aspects of Android, which is unsurprising given that BlackBerry 10 does support Android applications. I think in 10.3 the differences are much less than they are in 10.0–2, making the integration less apparent.

Hehe... I'm not running an older version of Android. I have Android 4.4.4.

BTW, in case you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic when I said they look nothing alike.
