I am downloading the 10.2 Dev Beta off blackberry site, is this usable? Also, if say I didn't like the OS could I roll back to 10.1?

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you have to ask I would strongly recommend against you using the beta developers build... You're going to notice a lot missing.

You do have a good point, I am good with phones(rooting, custom roming etc on android devices) however I'm new to BB, just wanted to ask a few simple questions.

It's just so stripped down... you can load an alpha build that's listed in the above sticky that will be more what you'd be used to, but my best recommendation if you're new to it is load up 10.1.0.4543 that'll give you a great boost for now before a really viable 10.2

    10.1.0.4543 a big upgrade from 10.1.0.273?

    Good call kwm1337!

IF you want to experiment with 10.2, and have some functionality, gather all the hybrid tools, read up on their usage, and install 10.2.0.228 with beta 10.2.0.341's radio file. Restoration is super iffy on this one, but everything - except the weather app, which you can install a different weather bar - works.

Is the 4.2.2 runtime available in any of the leaks we have at the moment?

Only in the crippled dev build 10.2.0.341

Okay maybe I will wait for 10.2.0.4** when it is leaked. Would you recommend 10.2.0.93 to start?

It worked pretty well for me for a while. My phone did reboot itself while it was charging over night, but I was assured it was not a very common problem. It does have some nice new features though, and it's the only 10.2 build I can personally recommend.

Any reason why you went back to 10.1?

    I wouldn't go on .93
It's much older than even most of the 2xxx builds on 10.1 (build date was may 12th)
Sure, it may have the cool loading spinner, but apart from that, I don't see any reason why you would want it
.228 probably gives you a better idea what 10.2 is like, but it lacks the 4.2.2 android runtime, and the ability to restore
While .341 has the 4.2.2 android runtime, it is missing many core apps. Even though you can load many of them back, it's still not like a full OS. And again, you can't restore to this build
I've build quite a few hybrids between 10.1 and 10.2, but I have to say that the recent leaks of 4537 and 4543 are pretty decent. I would give 4543 a go if you want to install a leak.
As for a new build of 10.2, it will probably be a 10.2.0.5xx build before a release. It was noted that some of the 4xx builds weren't that stable

Here is the million dollar question! Does the flipping when your contacts text you does it play the tone you have chosen for them, and when you place it in a holster does it vibrate w out having to put it on vibrate. Do to popular belief these are BlackBerry basics. The Z10 has not done this since day one, one would think after the extra time they took to "get it right" it would work like a BlackBerry should, just saying

I would back this statement 100% for those looking for an idea of what's going on behind the curtain... This will be the first "real"/"legit", worthwhile for everyone,10.2 leak in my opinion, when it comes...

    341 is the Dev build

    402 was junk

    483 isn't that bad

527 is next I've heard of

Spotted builds up in the 25xx build as far as I've heard from my internal source

Quick question. Does BB Link backup Android Side-loaded apps as well? If not, how would I extract the sideloaded .bar off my z10 as I have an important paid app on there.

No it doesn't, and no way to extract it, how'd you get it in the first place?
