    Hello. I heard that the official software will be released soon. I currently use the leaked one and Im facing the proximity sensor problems (it keeps flashing and never stop). Im sure that the original software wont have this problem. Im curious how can update to the original one to fix this problem.
    Thanks! BlackBerry newbie!

    The proximity sensor does not have any way to flash. Do you mean the led? A lot of things can make it flash. Emails, texts, bbm, any notification, voicemail, missed calls, pin messages, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

    The proximity sensor does flash, not nearly as bright as the led it's hard to notice.

    @thread starter:

    That issue was fixed for me on 10.2.1.1925... which version you got?

    I think the proximity sensors in the BB10's are infrared... Imagine pressing a button on old school TV remotes u get that faint red light... This is that same thing. Shines infrared light out and checks to see if it comes back or not.. A strong sensor isn't needed so some of the infrared light is visible to us. Normally a higher powered infrared light is invisible because our eyes cannot see that spectrum of light

    Actually, on the Z30 the proximity sensor issue is still there, just happens less frequently. It is also impacting battery life, increasing the idle drain. This is on latest Z30STA100-5/10.2.1.1925.

    I stand corrected. Thanks for the information. You can use a great diagnostic app in BlackBerry World called "BBVE" to run a bunch of hardware tests on our phones. Free too.
