I use Snap and Amazon App Store. Amazon also alerts you to updates for Apps obtained through it. Plus, Amazon has a daily free App (usually games but sometimes applications - got a $6 astronomy App for free).

My problem is that I have no any android device, so how can I use Snap? It requires id from Google Play and password. How can I get it?

Absolutely any gmail address can be used. There's no need for an android device whatsoever.

I see you got it, but just wanted to add this...

Actually, you only need a Google account. You don't really even need a Gmail account.

I was a hesitant myself because I didn't want to make up a Gmail address even if I was never going to actually use it.

But, I found out that you can set up a Google account using an existing non-Gmail email address. There is an option to use an existing email when setting it up.

When I tried to set one up for me, it turned out that there was already a Google account tied to my email address. I had forgotten that I created one about 10 years ago to access the old Google Groups for reading some of the old AutoCAD user groups that were around then.

I certainly didn't remember my password from then as it had been years since I last read those groups. But I did a password reset, logged on using my email address and new password through Snap, and it worked.

I thought I have to install a playbook App Manager extension on Google Chrome ( which is not available anymore , seems they kicked it out from the Google Web store. But why?)

Yeah but why people say " use snap" when it is not possible anymore because the chrome extension is gone from Google Web Store.

As I said, there is more than one way to sideload bar files. You dont have to use the Chrome Extension.

Why can't you install this extension?

Sachie, DDPB, and any number of other programs can be used to side load snap. Go to the side loading forums and read the guides.

Though I myself prefer SNAP for its really clean interface to search Google Play Market, if you don't want to sideload SNAP, then you can try Aptoide or Amazon.
Aptoide even has a dedicated BB10 Market where only APKs working fine on BB10 are put up.
Just go to aptoide.com on your BB10 device and install it and then add the BB10 market. You can search and install all other android apks too.
    See here for more details.

Arlene, you can use your phone's browser to download the Amazon app store and get apk's from there. You get a daily paid app free as a bonus.
