I searched the forum and only found one reference to this issue, so I thought I'd create a thread.

10.2.1.1055 won't recognize my Sandisk class 10 64 GB SDXC microSD card. Under Settings > Storage and Access:

Try hooking the card up to a computer, run a full format (not a quick one) and then put it back in the BlackBerry and format through settings>storage

That was one of the first things I tried. What format should I use? ExFAT?

Hmm. My Z30 recognizes my 64GB SanDisk Class 10 SDXC Micro SD, but nothing over USB host. Probably a driver issue, hopefully it gets sorted out with later versions.

    Try FAT32 for now.

Had the same issue... Thought it was odd and just me. Got my Z30 today and loaded 10.2.1.1055 on it, after loading it on my Z10 yesterday.

Ended up downgrading the OS on the Z10, then formatting the card there and was able to use it on the Z30.

On Windows 7 can only pick between exFAT and NTFS. Looks like I'm downgrading and formatting.

No, just do either then pop it in the Z and format again

This is the only thing that worked for me. Downgraded my Q10, formatted the card, and then flashed Q10SQN100-1/10.2.1.1055.

I have had some troubles with two SD cards with 10.2.1055 on my Q10. It seems that Android apps can't fully read and write on the SD card

I got errors with both PodTrapper and Podcast Addict when I tried to change the storage directory for downloads to /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/. They both seem to work fine as long as they only access and write to folders in /mnt/sdcard/Android/.

Side-loaded Instagram does something similar... Pictures stored on my SDcard are not accessible to the App.

I tried reformatting the cards, and even downloaded software to format with FAT32 instead of exFAT. No luck.

    Any suggestions?

Didn't have any trouble when I installed 1055. All my files are still there from earlier leaks.

Did you try to reboot after the first boot up?

Yes - did a reboot after first bootip (and have done reset, etc.) - I think the issue is if you have a new SD as I did (and I think also the OP) that has not been formatted - that is why your Q is seeing the SD and your files . . . .

How are you guys formatting? When I mount using BlackBerry device manager it doesn't let me format it since its technically a network drive.

I was asking since I don't have one with me at the moment. Ahh well this sucks. Just have to wait until I go back home.

    Hi guys,

I was faced with this same problem but I was really not keen on installing an old OS just to format my SD card. I connected my card to my PC using an adapter, backed up all my data then did a search for freeware that will format your SD card into the FAT32 format. Once my card was converted back to FAT32, I slotted it back in my Q10 and transferred all my files back.

A bit of work, but beats having to autoload an OS three times...

As for mine, after reformatting the sd-card seem to be normal and usable but after a few days unidentified files appeared from nowhere. I had this problem since a few leaks back, and I've tried all the suggestion above long ago but nothing seems to work, these file just keep on appearing and it can't be deleted

By the way im using SanDisk Extreme 64GB microsdXC. I don't have this problem with my other 16GB SanDisk ultra microsdhc. Makes me think that maybe 64GB is too big for the Z30?

Odd that some people are having this problem and others are not.. I popped in my 64gb class 10 Sandisk microsd the day I got my z30 (took it right out of my z10) and haven't looked back since. I did however have a similar problem when I first put it into my z10 about 6 months ago.. had to format (Fat32) and it worked like a charm. Hope you guys get it sorted out!

Fat32 is supported. ExFat (which most 64GB SD cards come pre-formatted as) is not...or maybe they are trying to?

I know I saw ExFat support mentioned specifically in earlier builds of the 10.2.1 leaks, but didn't see it mentioned specifically as of late. I'm sure they still have bugs to iron out.

If you use Fat32, on a 64 Gig card, you should have zero issues (assuming you don't have some crap SD card).
Of course, with Fat32, you can't have files on the card larger than 4GB.

I used the Fat32 formatting method to make it work on a new 64gb micro sdxc card I bought today, but I tried the same trick on the old one that was causing trouble over the weekend and found out that it doesn't work. That one is definitely going back for warranty.

I loaded an older OS onto my Q10 (10.2.0.1803), which was able to recognize and format my SD card. I did it via

Settings > Storage and Access > scroll down to "Format Media Card"

Once it was formatted, I loaded 10.2.1.1055 again, and now it was able to recognize my SD card.

I don't know what caused the problem in the first place. I hadn't even encrypted the SD card.
