    Question:

In 10.2, do we get finally some OS integrated Settings to Block specific Numbers / SPAM Calls and SPAM SMS?

Even my old Cheap Samsung Wave with a totally new OS had it since Day 1 of Release.

It's an important Standard Option these days. BlackBerry will loose the fight if they keep ignoring and f**king there Customers.

And NO i will never use a 3rd Party App for this because I had a very bad experience in the Past with stolen Numbers. And blocking numbers carrier side is not possible with my carrier without blocking all calls.

    Thank You
    Greetings from Germany
    Oliver

I hope that BlackBerry is going to make big design changes in new versions so it doesn't feel like iphone that is the same for over 5 years or so?

Yes, after two months with this brand new OS it really is starting to feel stale.

    [/sarcasm]

Seriously? The OS just came out. Big design changes?

I get what you are saying. I guess I just don't understand why the decision as to whether I should load it or not is being made for me. It's like I'm being told that you all know what is best for me better than I do. Yet, it's Ok that you run it? I'm a 3rd party dev for BlackBerry who attended BlackBerry jam this year as someone very knowledgeable about BlackBerry and buggy dev software. I believe so much in the platform and have invested so heavily in it I actually learned how to code just so I could give something back and do everything I could to strengthen the platform. And I develop software for no other platform than BlackBerry.

So why is it that you should be running the leak but not me?
I'm not trying to sound disrespectful I just don't understand why when it was a 10.1 leak it was "be informed and install at your own risk" and when it's a 10.2 leak it's "this is too risky for you, but not us. Trust us, we know better."

Gotcha. I'll be interested to see how the OS evolves and matures, especially as newer technologies develop.

I was gonna jump on your original comment, haha... but you're right. I definitely do hope that they are thinking longer term now. I love the look of the new os and it could stay that way for a long while, but its good not to think too short term. I would say that we are lucky, because this seems to be one of Thors strengths

Damn it. Well I will wait for a more "finalized" Leak -and if it's still not coming with 10.2 then I need to sell my Z10. It's a shame.

    Anyway thanks for your Answer

Right I was using fb as an example when normally the page takes time to load. I do Not get the new spinner At all with this new leak. That is why I am asking if it is in this one or in the full FULL OS the we have Not received yet?

That's not funny troll. The S4 was my first Choice but it has android os. Then I saw by accident that BlackBerry is still operating and brings a new device. Finally I decided to give my first BlackBerry a chance.

I never had an android device and i didn't want one for security Reasons and because Apple is censoring and keeps f*cking his customers every single day.

I knew from the beginning that a few things are still missed in 10.0 but that you can't block Spam Calls on a so called "modern up to date BlackBerry OS 10" is a bad sign in my opinion.

I have asked BlackBerry Support a few times about this problem but no answer since Months. F*ck you BlackBerry. Your Support sucks and you have no idea about a modern OS when it's comes to important things to protect our privacy. Instead you are giving government agencies back holes in your OS so that they can spy on people whenever they want. Turns out BlackBerry would do anything for profit like apple/nokia/samsung/google and co.

I've never seen a phone be able to block one number for calls or texts, including all the Samsung dumbphones my parents have. Maybe it's only in certain regions...? Then again I never looked that hard for this feature so I could be wrong.

Agree with the first part of your post, I switched for the same reasons from my iPhone but I don't have any gripes about the OS that are enough to diminish my experience.

I have this feature on my Z10, but it's carrier supported, not a phone feature. With Rogers it can be configured via the my account app on the phone or the online portal. I'm not sure if other carriers are offering a similar service.

That said, as above, I've yet to see a phone offer this as a standard feature.. I do remember 3rd party apps that would do it on BBOS, and I'm sure similar apps will pop up for BB10 as the platform matures and the api's are released

In my old cheap Samsung Wave with Bada OS V1.0 it was OS integrated worldwide - and independent if the carrier supported it or not. And on many other phones.

Edit : And you had the OS integrated possibility to Block emails.
BlackBerry has a long way to go if they really wish to show they are an option.
