Kris, can you confirm whether Thor's dev team actually have a command, they use internally, to turn off the PIN-stuck-on-screen label we're so proudly wearing in this thread?

Just curious because I thought I saw that somewhere. It was late--I couldn't remember.

    Thanks -White

It can be deactivated, yes, but you would need to be root. It checks for the type of OS you're running and sets this variable:
    Code:
    DCONF_DISABLE_PIN_WATERMARK=""

Just one thing I am thinking about: 10.1 was released with a build number of 10xx - so I guess with a build number at 970 odd now, we are quite close to what will be the initial beta build and then the release version.

    Tick tock goes the clock...

I think there was an 1080 or so build as well.
Still, even if it is 1400 odd - they went through a good 700 build numbers in about 3 odd weeks.

After reviewing stuff we have here in the team, I can confirm that that a method exists as Nick points out to remove the watermark; however, I will disagree with him just a bit, that there may be a method or two, workaround style that we could use.
    Workarounds is the word.

Ok so I'm not really sure if I'm following you guys correctly. I'm reading post above and below. I think what this could be meaning is 10.2 10xx builds would have less broke stuff and I'm assuming radios as well? And then we would see more leaks you guys could mess around with and let drop in the forums? Or am just too confused?

The radio is a different beast. The autoloaders are comprised of an OS and a radio. It is believed that when the sdk goes gold in August there should be a compatible radio with that (same as using the .340 radio with .483). Until then, without a radio leak or a miracle from the leak team, there would be no phone calls on future 10.2 builds. What they are saying is that 10.2 is pretty close to production ready.

So my best hope for a 10.2 w/phone calls is sometime in August.

Production means you guys can see it on carrier servers and pull it down and play around with it?

The stuff you guys have now are versions not on carrier servers?

Sorry I'm starting to learn just a bit behind and Google doesn't really cover this information very well.

10.2.0.438 works great for me and I have voice calls both in and out. And I have the.662 android runtime as well.

Hopefully soon. Check out the video posted above (I assume it is a link to Kris' 10.2.0.810 video). Also read the stickies. They may be a little technical but it is good information. Also when searching Google just type crackberry in the search thread or just search crackberry :-)

    Thanks all-

I've gone up and twice but only from 10 to 10.1 and back to stock and back up to 10.1 have been waiting to go up again to something soon.

I read the the stickies and asked like two basic questions and had no difficulty with the whole process.

On one hand people make it sound all scary and difficult. I'm not sure what I'm doing half the time other then following details on a list.

I will say I can always just go buy a new phone and not think twice about it. So thats not a problem if something gets broke and I can't manage to find my way back.

I am finding that the OS, carrier, BlackBerry etc conversations interesting. I'm just not always able to follow the details.

Mind sending some of that fundage my way? I could always brick my phone, you never know!

Seriously though, glad it worked out for you. You'll always find someone here willing to answer your questions should you have anymore

I was looking at the Sachesi thread and noticed something interesting in FlexNinja's signature:

    STL-2/10.2.0.810 MSM8960_V3.2.1_F_R086_Rev:16
    SQN-3/10.1.0.4687

I think he may already be in possession of this radio Kris speaks off.

Lol remember when we (well, many of us) were worried that BB10 wouldn't be available before the end of the world?

    Ah... good times.
