I wanted to start a separate thread specifically for this leak version to keep track of problems or successes people are having restoring their data with BB Link.

Ok than that's a common issue - question would be how is it from a 10.2. OS?

    Better than 10.1?

Just restoring settings gives me the red light. Best to use this on a test device.

Also unable to restore, from 10.1.0.4543. Tried full restore, tried partial restore, crashes once it starts restoring and device performs a reboot at that time.

    Restored worked fine for me!
I had a backup from 10.2.228 and I did the OS upgrade over that os too

OK, here are 3 ways that have worked:
I had different errors (telling there would be no personal settings area, telling just that the restore didn't complete and a rebooting phone when the restore would have started normally)
Always make sure to have the latest Blackberry link version (they are updated very often)
    1. Install the leak again just the same way (i needed to do this 2 times to make it work)
    2. What has worked for me with other leaks is to remove my device from BlackBerry link, shut it down, restart link to auto detect device and it will go though the device association again. Make sure you have renamed the device (on device) to your preferred name before reconnecting to computer. This method has never failed me in the past and I am quietly optimistic it will work on this build. Fingers crossed

    3. i found it by playing around a lot, having an "unusable" backup. Restore your newest backup to an older firmware (for example the official for your device; you may have to edit the OS Version in the Manifest, Darcy tools will help you). Then backup again (the backup will now originate from an older OS - older than this leak seems to be important). Then install this leak again and go for it. I personally had to restore just apps and media, so nothing was really lost (settings of whatsapp and bebuzz and so on are stored in the app data and will be restored). I Just had to re-enter the Accounts again. I could not figure out, if the backup itself was the problem or one of the settings.

The second one did not work for me on this leak.

I hope one of them helps you with this or other leaks

I took a little bit of a different road and *fingers crossed* the restore appears to be taking right now.
I removed BB Link from my pc completely. Ran the installer for the OS again (only the .483, not the dev beta). Downloaded BB Link and reinstalled it. Hooked the two of them up and the restore is in progress right now, which is a lot further than I've gotten so far.

I hope you've got more luck than I had with just installing the os again.
I was able to restore the settings but nothing really worked. The Facebook account was totally messed up (not able to set up a new one), WhatsApp did not appear in the hub, 2 Email accounts did not show up, Blackberry world did not work correctly.

but *fingers crossed* i hope you don't run into the same issues.
Btw. uninstalling Link, rebooting and setting it up again did fix issues i had before, so this seems to be a good idea when expecting weird issues.

Gambit, so far all appears to be well here. Going through everything to make sure of course, but Facebook, Twitter, it seems to be okay. Just had to enter the passwords again

Hey if you have a pc and a mac upgrade your device with the pc and do the restore from the mac. Mac is also a lot faster to do a restore. I would let you know my self but on holidays and can't do it until the weekend.

I have a feeling the current link isn't really 100% compatible with 10.2... Horrible piece of software anyways! Rather use SyncToy or something for Syncing music... And backup contacts with Outlook or Intouch.

What is the newest version? I tried these methods. None seem to work. My restore was from the leak before the 4543 (4537). Gonna make a back up on the 4543 and see what happens tomorrow.

No issues restoring from a 10.1.0.4537 backup. I used to have all kinds of backup and restore issues that required me to do some odd workarounds like disabling wi-fi sharing and putting the phone into airplane mode. Since updating BlackBerry Link on my PC to the latest version, I haven't had any problems restoring (and I do it a lot as I've installed every leak that's been released) .

I had the same issue. I ended up reinstalling it from scratch and wiping after installing 10.2.0.483 and finally for restore to work.

failed to restore from 10.1.0.2019 backup. I've tried partials and disconnecting the device from Link. I think i'm going to need to downgrade, go to .4543, backup, then restore.

man this is gonna take a while...

I've just found a 3rd option if you keep having issues and edited it to my post. Good luck trying, i was able to restore even backups that i thought lost.

not sure if it will work specifically for this leak but what worked for me on a different version was making a backup on the current OS, then extracting the files from both versions, finally using the manifest from the new back up but just changing the file sizes to those of the old backup. Oddly it only worked using the new manifest not adding the stuff from the new one into the old I dont get why?

I was on. 228 (I think) I had no issue with restore. Just plugged it in waited about 5 mins let link get settled. Restore was there and away I went.
