I'm not sure if it's just my router, or if it's 10.2.0.1725, but I cannot see any 5GHz wifi networks on my Z10.

Can anyone confirm that they have the same issue, or confirm that they can see 5GHz wifi networks while running 10.2.1725?

    Thanks for the confirmation, howarmat.

I have a stl100-3 too... My 5GHz network has been less stable than my 2.4 anyway.

I've noticed that regardless of which OS is on, my 5GHz network is derptacular. Probably Netgear's fault.

That's by the nature of higher frequency wavelengths. High frequencies are more likely to reflect off surfaces so they don't penetrate walls and floors very well.

There reason this thread came to be was because I was setting up a 5GHz wifi repeater on another floor of my house and could not see ANY 5GHz network on my phone. I still think it's an issue with my phone as I could not see the main router's 5GHz network, nor my repeater's. I'll just grab another device that has a 5GHz radio to see if it can pick up any of my networks.

I use my Z10 on 5Ghz. It can be problematic. Sometimes when I come home it just won't connect or even see the SSID. Reboot fixes it fir a few days. Thus has been an issue with all leaks and maybe with the AT&T original OS.

I also have problems at say a Starbucks where the WiFi is weak. It will dither back and forth between LTE & WiFi. Also if the WiFi connects but at low signal the Internet won't connect but LTE cuts out. Then I have to manually turn WiFi off.

On Verizon 10.2.0.1725 with Linksys EA4500 (refurbished) purchased direct from Linksys. Works awesome. Leave home, come back, automatically hooks back up every time. Never drops at home either.

Let's try to figure this out.

I'm running 1725 on a z10 and can't see the wifi network in the house (dlink dir 600). Three iPhones (3GS) a Lenovo thinkpad, and my wife's Q10 (running 1047) can all see the network. Only the z10 on 1725 can't. Not my router so I can't really run diagnostics.

Just saw the DIR600 is a 2.4ghz router. Maybe something else is going on, other than a 5ghz issue.

Anyone figure this out? I am no longer able to see 5GHz networks on my Z10 while other devices I have in my home can see it fine.

Sounds like either a setting or you just need to update radio file...10.2.1.2228 sounds like an old os #...try updating os/radio to newer one...I'm on 10.3.1.938...

Thank you for the feedback. Does an autoloader exist for the OS version you mentioned? And does everything work normally in it?

You can try a non destructive update with sachesi if you don't want to bother setting everything up again.
The thread is on top of the leak sub forum.
Find the correct files for your device variant (can be checked in settings> about> hardware)

I used Sachesi to do a non-destructive update to the latest official release for my Z10.

Now I am running 10.2.1.3337 and my phone can see 5GHz. Yay!

I hope an official release of 10.3.1 comes soon... one with all the major bugs squashed...

My STL100-2 see channels under 64, but cant see over 100, I use channel 161 and my Z10 cant see this channel, so I use 2.4GHz (netgear R7000)
I have written many times that it is probably a bug in the software BB10

At home, one more time I tested channels 5GHz.
    I choosed region Australia in my router (Netgear R7000), and router has 5GHz channels: 36, 40, 44, 48, 149, 153, 157, 161.
    My Z10 STL100-2 can see 36, 40, 44, 48 and doesnt see 149, 153, 157, 161

This was with 10.2.x.x and 10.3.x.x

    OK. So here's a possibility.

Refer to the 5Ghz section of this article: List of WLAN channels - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Channels 149, 153, 157 and 161 are used in Australia - but not in many other parts of the world.

So if the radio firmware being used on the device (eg. from a leak) is a ROW (Rest of World) version, it may well disable channels 149, 153, 157, 161 intentionally.

To be able to view and connect to 5Ghz wifi on channels 149, 153, 157 and 161, a region-specific radio for Australia would need to be used. If the carrier hasn't released an official radio stack, then this is unlikely to occur.

A similar situation occurs on 2.4Ghz channels 12,13,14.

This explains why my Passport can't connect to a 5Ghz router using the higher transmission channels since loading leaked versions of 10.3.1. It's not a bug - it's an intentional channel limitation of the specific regional radio stack. Maybe this is the case for you?
