Same here. Lost SMS shortly after upgrading to 2342. Used the 2354 autoloader of Kris, security wiped, restored data and apps (but NOT settings) and the problem remains.

Kris, do you have any hints about the root cause of this issue which seems to be resisting the security wipes? Do you think NOT reloading anything would help?

    Cheers

There's one sure way to find out..

As a step in trouble shooting just about anything it's always advisable to test prior to restoring, and then moving on from there..

    - Security wipe -> test. If the problem is gone reload your data -> test again. if the problem has returned, -> re security wipe, do not reload your data, or try reloading just partial data, test again etc.

Not to pre-empt Kris, but my understanding is that restoring from 2342 results in problems. I did think it was the settings rather than the media and app data, but maybe you just can't restore anything from 2342.

Number one rule of troubleshooting, never assume... I restored Settings and Apps from .2342 and everything is running perfectly since upgrading to .2354 on Friday morning.

I love this leak on the 3.

Battery life is amazing and everything seems just a bit more snappy.

Finally! Just had the chance to load this one. Used the Sachup/Sachibar "upgrade" method, my first time doing so. Worked fine. I like not having to restore settings/reinstall apps and add accounts again. MMS is working just fine, for what it's worth. No software release showing, but that doesn't bother me at all.

Now to see what the battery usage is like after a couple of days. 2342 had poor battery life for me, regardless of which radio I used.

There's a chance that I may have just had a random reboot on this, but I'm not 100% sure - I was holding it in my hand and then noticed the boot screen, so I wonder if maybe I was just holding the power button by accident. I've had reboots on .1916 and .2342 so far (didn't have .2009 long enough to know for sure). I'll be on the lookout in case it happens again.

Looks like you have a faulty device if you've had reboots on .1916 or above.

I hope this isn't 100% accurate as I have reboots on 2009 but none on 2342 or 2354. VZW -4

    Phill,

Interesting. I wonder if the ".1916 and above" applies only to the OS version or to the radio version, as well.

So far I've had no reboots on 2354/1881 but it's too early to tell. I did have reboots on 1880/1881, although not often.

If I get any more reboots, I'll try upgrading the radio to .1917 via autoload.

Tried several combinations and full OS. Always high battery drain.

Only 1235 with 1881 radio give me a huge battery life

I never tried .2009 due to speculation it was a Verizon build.

The radio file used doesn't seem to have any impact on the reboot issue. I ran .2342 with the .1720 radio for a while and that was fine for me, but .1720 on it's own was a nightmare. This leads me to believe that the 'reboot fix' is incorporated into the core OS file.

According to Kris's BlackBerry insider, their attempt at a reboot fix was first introduced in OS .1916. This certainly sounds plausible to me as I haven't had one on any OS since then.

Now about that torrent: if you've downloaded it or are downloading it, please stick around and seed. It seems to be bouncing around between 1 and 4 seeders, so do your part.

Well, my thinking has been that whatever random reboot fixes BlackBerry has been playing with might have an adverse effect on certain units that never had the issue. If I can confirm that I'm getting random reboots on .2354, I'm going to revert to the official OS and see if I can replicate them there. If it's still an issue then, I'll contact my carrier about it - maybe a replacement unit is in order.

Very hopeful. Thanks. So far, with 2354/1881, so good, on every count including battery life. Of course, I'm not using the Z10 that much over the weekend.

Let the battery completely die and then leave it on the charger until it gets a full charge.

Wow.. my battery life is atrocious on this build!

Installed yesterday, let the syncs all finish and the OS settle in... charged over night, been off the charger only 4 hours and I've only got 25% left. On. 2342 I was getting a full day.

Have a huge battery drain with this os. just flashed radios 1971 to see if that helps. Device has been running very hot and battery guru show power draw at 3.1 and 2.1 while idle.

Actually, I did not...I use my Z typically in the US on AT&T and also in Montreal Canada where it typically alters between Bell 4G and Rogers 4G.

I m on .2354 with .1880 radio on Z10STL100-2/10.1.0.2354 on 2G Vodafone India. But get 6-8 hrs battery life. Have to charge phone 3 times a day. I have 18 BBM groups & 32 channels. & of course whatsapp. Phone usage is just 8-10 phones a day.

    Any suggestions for battery life?

Version .2354 just feels and flows much better than .2342 when running any App on my Z10 period.
