This is a repost from last night (I have deleted that post).

I'm just wondering if the two bar files I downloaded via Sachup in Windows (on a VM) can then be moved to the Mac side (that part is easy) and then loaded onto the Z10 using the Mac Chrome Google PlayBook app loader, like I do with side loaded Android apps?
In theory I could not see why not - if you try, you do so at your own risk. Using the 134 individual files might be easier - again, try at your own risk.

2342 was a failed OS from inside BlackBerry testing they built 2354 to fix it's issues

I installed the 2342 last weekend on my 100-3 and so far it has been great. No issues at all, and battery life has been great.

This has been the best version for my Verizon -4 model, I did a autoloader, then a security wipe and then manually setup my accounts and apps and it's running the best it ever has. 2342 was garbage on my -4 model, keep freezing and crashing and acting slow

One observation with SMS; when you open one in the hub, it slides in from the side then the messages slide down into position. The animation of the messages sliding down seems to be quite laggy. I did just do a restart about 10 minutes ago so I will wait to see if it changes. If anyone would like to check this on theirs and chime in, that would be cool.

I don't see why not, since after all sachibar is just a bar installer

I guess I should clarify "failed" for everyone, since I'm seeing the same type of responses (and yes 2342 worked well for me as well)

Failed OS = Did not meet Blackberries technicial standards. Not to say the OS isn't better than previous builds, but it wasn't up to the same level of quality they would like to see in released OS's

That's good. But does it mean that .1720 met their standards? .90 was really good but I dont think .1720 can match .2342. To me its a really great build. That's just my opinion though.

It just won't connect to gmail at all. Tried deleting the account then re adding but getting nothing. Sends back an error that it can't connect to imap even though it's always worked before. Weird
Update - Did a security wipe and that fixed the problem. Doesn't sound like anyone else had this problem but if you do this did the trick for me.

Kris, if we load via sachup, do we need to wipe?

So after initial boot and security wipe have been completed, I noticed that I have my Boot Time and it's only 5hrs ahead. After apps are downloaded, going to reboot again to see if it sticks (although I know it won't)

But how come carriers are pushing that very same, lower quality OS to their customers?

Sachup method has seemed to cause a SMS issue, also if you do a security wipe after Sachup upgrade doesn't that defeat the purpose of a non destructive update?

This is the downside to letting carriers dictate the OS they release. Blackberry may not have a OS meet their standards and scrap it, but if a carrier testing lab (because BBRY does send a copy out to all Carriers, even while BBRY is still testing), determines that the OS is sufficient enough for their network, they can go ahead and upload to the server and push down to devices.

As expected, boot time is gone, I'm starting to think he has something to do with the device changing time zones on initial setup

Hmmmm... It's a risky path for BlackBerry, but I guess the trade-off is that carriers can push updates quicker. I would have thought that they would have a system where carriers can see the test results for each build.

    SMS problem, not on me.
Non destructive update, true, can't blame me for asking damn questions, i've been up since 0530 this morning and now it's 19:15.
