I did not upgrade yet... So I can only guess...
Does "BlackBerry-Link software" recognize the device via USB?
May be you should run it one time with Link then you get 2 drivers on your computer: one for device storage, the other for the media card.

HI there - on your Passport please set the USB cable from "Auto Detect" to Windows (or MAC, if that's what you have).
    It helps.

Why, that's why we're in the "community" right?
By brainstorming and suggesting several different things, we lead the asking person to a solution that might be evident.
I hope you'll answer my request, too if I need help!

It's not a new feature. It's been around since the release of BB10. In fact, the same option is present on the Playbook...

yup talking about two different things here.

Based on what's listed, the OP is running a leaked OS, He's running the one that comes with the Passport. That being said, the menu you've shown is an option as of yet. That's new in 10.3.1
Those menu options also come turned off, to prevent this type of thing from happening, so it's kind've irrelevant.

The fix which helped the OP was found in these settings

Sorry for the double post. I wasn't near my phone for the last message. :-)

    oh no doubt.
It's weird how that switch works. It was a must on my Playbook and z10. but doesn't matter on my q10 or passport..

Just thought I would say that I had the same issue as some folks, where I could not get the Chrome plug-in to connect. It would spin for a bit and then just say "unable to connect" in the browser window. This was via USB, Dev mode on, and the IP being the 169.254.0.1 default.

My BB does connect to my PC fine, shows as a drive, and is connected in BB Link.

So, I looked up the Wifi IP of my Passport, making sure it was on the same network as my PC, and the plug-in connected fine, and I was able to sideload Snap! that way.

I remember having this problem with either my first Z10, or it and my Z30 at first, and then it went away. Not sure why.

Anyways, if you are having the issue over USB, try it over Wifi.

I Also tried sideload.it, but not sure exactly how that works. On their server, they don't have Snap!, and only had a few apps. I think someone said it doesn't sideload .bar, but does work for .apk?

You guys should just use the Chrome browser connected through wifi.

It worked on the very first try for me.
