I think for a very long time. There's a lot of people in countries that can't afford a passport or soon the RIO. Blackberry won't snub them anytime soon. Seems that the Z10 can run 10.3 just fine. So other than camera and battery life I say it will be relevant hardware.
    Or
They could pull the plug on updates for it in the next couple years once most people have swapped the 10 for the Z3 LTE?

Don't worry about how long they'll be supported for new softwares. I'm pretty sure BlackBerry doesn't plan on dropping these devices any time soon. There have been zero signs that the Z10, Z30, Q10, Q5, or Z3 will stop receiving updates. So don't get worried about it.

Nope. Running a Z10 on 10.3, and it's only getting faster. As BlackBerry 10 develops, they also improve the software performance, so don't even worry about the speed and performance of the original devices degrading. They have great specs and they should be able to handle it.

Dude!! You're posting the same thing in almost every thread. This is not a very good strategy. Anyway, go back to the official 10.2.1 like the other person suggested. Use an autoloader from the BlackBerry10 autoloader archive. It's a sticky thread. Or connect to BlackBerry link and click "reload os".

I agree with this statement. And as czeckmate already mentioned 10.3.1 is running buttery smooth on the old devices. Even on Z3 which has lesser RAM & processing speed.

And I don't see BlackBerry dropping support to these old devices that easily. Because the best part about BlackBerry is that their devices are "built to last".

If you're ignorant about these, just connect phone to BlackBerry link and click the "reload os" button. Problem solved.

I think if it's technically feasible to update existing devices they will. For Blackberry there is no downside to updating existing devices but if they don't the downside is they may lose marketshare. If you got a z30 for example a year ago most likely you had to go out of your way to get one, either online or specifically requesting one through your carrier. If you find out Blackberry decided not to provide OS updates even though they technically could you probably wouldn't get another Blackberry. With a niche market product you can't afford to anger your user base IMO.

Good specs to run the OS and the BlackBerry apps
My z10(100-1) lags at real racing 3!

Yes,they are good to run the OS smoothly but they cant run heavy game such as RR3
OS updates lead to more RAM & CPU consumption right?

This is a debatable topic and a never ending one. If you feel the Z10 is incapable, go buy the passport. But if you think the Z10 can hold for a while longer, continue using it. No real benefit on debating about the hardware & specs in this manner. To each their own.

    Im not a qwerty user
    But love its uniqueness
Z30 on otherhand is not a future proof device considering its price of 440$(yes In my country its priced at 440) but BlackBerry is the best OS
    Thats why im confused

I have the z10. Yes it takes a little longer to receive updates. It's not going to slow down. This phone was meant to stick around. It's not going to crop out. Sure it has the occasional glitch but what phone doesn't. The battery life is also decent z10 or z30 doesn't matter still going to be an amazing buy. Don't worry about there future when there is no need to. They aren't going to be going anywhere anytime soon. They are in it for the long run!!!
