    I cant seem to access the device at all. Tried pulling the battery, tried hard starting using the power key, vol up+down keys combo, power+vol up+vol down keys combo.....all that happens is that the device switches off and starts itself up again but doesn't get pass the first start up screen

    Ok, are you sure the battery is fully charged? Have you tried pulling the battery out for a good ten minutes then put it back on?

    Which STL version do you have?

    The device has been down for 3 days now. I swapped batteries with a working device thinking it may be the battery.....the other device works fine with my battery but my device is still stuck.

    also removed the battery for a while (maybe a few hours) still no joy

    Unplug the battery, plug to PC, see if link sees it that way.

    It sounds like your internal hardware is the issue. The 16 GB is the problem here

    Yes, it does seem like a hardware problem. So far nothing has worked to get this phone started. Is it possible to access this device any other way?

    Hope you still have your warranty or you're in trouble. Mine did the same thing. I had to get a replacement.

    i also faced this problem. my phone dint boot up for 2 days. but i'm happy to tell you that i came out of this problem by my own.
    first remove all blackberry related software from your pc. then open blackberry website. and try updating ur software dirrectly from there. while running the autoloaders. hold power switch for sometime until red light glows on ur phone. u'll see the pc screen will promt u to select ur device. quickly select ur device from there and start updating ur software.

    this is 100% working..
