    Hello All.
I received the message below from Yahoo regarding access to my Yahoo accounts from my Blackberry Bold 9930. That 9930 is of course a BBRY 7 based device.

Near as I can tell, that Yahoo/Oath (aka Verizon) message below is a copy of the BBRY Support link at: https://support.blackberry.com/kb/ar...mber=000013799

On my 9930, in Setup | Email Accounts, I can see no way to enable two factor authorization as it appears that Yahoo wants.

Simple question: Is this something some of you experienced users of BBRY 7 devices have had to wade through before now?
Disconnecting your Yahoo accounts on your BB7 device in the Setup | Email Accounts dialog, altering the Yahoo account security settings to allow apps that use less secure sign in, then reconnecting your Yahoo accounts in the Setup | Email Accounts dialog?

Do you recall any land mines / IEDs or other gotchas?

    Thanks in advance everyone.

We’re updating the way that you connect your Yahoo Mail to your BlackBerry device on December 19, 2018. You’re impacted if you use Blackberry 10, BlackBerry 7 or earlier devices.

    What this means for you:

Before December 19, you must complete the below steps, otherwise you will lose access to your Yahoo Mail after December 19. Please make sure to have both your mobile device and a computer available.

Step 1 – Remove your account

You will need to temporarily remove your existing Yahoo Mail account from your BlackBerry device.

    - BlackBerry 7 and earlier: Follow the instructions here – page 35. - http://help.blackberry.com/en/blackb...629-4.4-en.pdf
    - BlackBerry 10: Follow the instructions here. - http://help.blackberry.com/detectlan...589362307.html

Step 2 – Change Yahoo Mail settings

If you have not enabled this already, you will need to change the Yahoo Mail settings in your laptop/desktop web browser to enable “App password” or to “Allow apps that use less secure sign in”.

    - Option 1 [recommended] –“App password” which supports two-step verification for extra security. Follow instructions here. - https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN15241.html
    - Option 2 – “Allow apps that use less secure sign in”. Follow instructions here. - https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN27791.html

    Step 3 – Re-integrate account

After changing your Yahoo Mail settings, you will need to re-integrate the account by following the steps linked below for your device.
    - BlackBerry 7 and earlier: Follow the instructions here. - http://support.blackberry.com/kb/art...mber=000015499 Note: This will remove the contact integration for your Yahoo account.
    - BlackBerry 10: Follow the instructions here.
If you are setting up your account manually, use the following servers for CalDAV and

    CardDAV:
    CalDAV: caldav.calendar.ymail.com
    CardDAV: carddav.address.ymail.com

A BlackBerry Knowledge Base article on issues using Yahoo Mail on Blackberry is available here - https://support.blackberry.com/kb/ar...mber=000013799. We are working with BlackBerry on a solution to enable OAuth access for Android BlackBerry devices.

Thanks for being a Yahoo Mail user.

You don't do it on device. As noted, you do it in the settings on Yahoo using your computer.

If you have not enabled this already, you will need to change the Yahoo Mail settings in your laptop/desktop web browser to enable “App password” or to “Allow apps that use less secure sign in”.

This isn't actually new, though, perhaps they made some other changes. Yahoo accounts have had to do this for a while now. Part of why most email complaints around here come from Yahoo. This stuff has been in effect since 2016 - https://crackberry.com/unable-integr...ry-these-fixes
