I am using a passport. But have learnt that whatsapp support will not be available on blackberry from December 2016?? Is it true? If yes, then shifting to iphone will be a better option?

The obvious answer is ... switch a BlackBerry-branded Android phone

Officially stopped end of December 2016. Apparently they have already stopped support for WhatsApp more than 1 year ago.

So if #BlackBerry is smart they would take advantage of this and get people to use #BBM if it is at all possible.

As BB10 supports .apk files, I think we can still use whatsapp after Dec 2016. But BBM has way more better features than whatsapp.

I'd be careful with your statement: it may be that Whatsapp will be doing something on their side where the old version will NOT work any longer.

WhatsApp for Android will work on BlackBerry 10 BUT again we do not know how long this will continue to work for. Chances are eventually the runtime will break the app, or an update to the app will break the runtime. Either or, if you want to reliably use WhatsApp, you'll need to go to a supported platform.

That's the right answer. Migrate to BBM

He's not wrong you know. Migrate to a ghost town, got no one there to talk to, doesn't matter if it works or not, so problem solved.

Well the new update of using phone number to discover contacts is a step in the right direction. If that automatically allows people to connect and then with an invitation to be in the friend list so that you have full features with each other will be good.

The next thing is to have all the features of 121 chats in group chat. Improved glympe with ETA and PayPal or BBM money.

If only the BlackBerry employees have more presence over at AndroidCentral I much rather stay there than to read about BB10 crap.

Amen. Some would rather Blackberry die in some action movie blaze of glory than survive and contribute to national economy.

I am also hoping that support for Blackberry will continue after Dec 2016.

The blackberry phones still continue to be the best on the market.

I am brand loyal. Would not like to change.
