I bought a new Passport in Germany, and it arrived with a QWERTZ keyboard, and before I could return it I dropped the damn thing, so now I will have to keep it. If I were to buy a QWERTY keyboard and replace it would that change be reflected automatically in the input? When I pressed the new Y key it would not come up as a Z? or is that all on the PCB so I am out of luck?

How about you change the setting in the software and find out? I mean, it's the software that decides it. Changing the keyboard will do you jack if the software doesn't get told what layout to use.

So, that. Change the settings and test.

Under settings, language and input you can change the default layout.
