I know this has been asked before on this forum, but, I haven't seen and answer from someone using the Page Plus LTE service.

Around my home the Verizon network is better and offers 4G speeds, however, I travel to Europe a few times a year. I am getting a Q10 but don't know if I should purchase a GSM version (sqn100-1 or sqn100-5) or get the sqn100-2 which I can use in the US and Europe (with different sims)

I don't think anyone has gotten a Verizon BB10 phone to work on Page Plus

The SQN100-2 is appreciably decent for occasional use in Europe, as it has the most common 3G bands used there. Have you considered Verizon's own branded prepaid service?

A SQN100-5 is a SQN100-1 plus a band missing in it, so you could say it's actually a better -1.

    Thanks Raino,

I think I'll go with the SQN100-1 (can't find a SQN100-5 anywhere). I know it will work with my local ATT and GSM carriers. Won't have LTE speeds (at least locally), however, that is really not that big of an issue for my cell phone use.

Something to keep in mind: the SQN100-1 (and -5) aren't as Europe-friendly as the -2. You'll get 3G in a few more places with the -2, but you should be good in most places with the -1. The -2 will get 3G/HSPA+ on AT&T, and if you get lucky, LTE in some places as well.

Hmmm..... some food for thought. I'll start looking around for the -2. Is Blackberry still producing the Q10's? Why are they so difficult to find (at least in the US).

I'm not sure if they're still in production. I've heard they are not. This is almost a two year-old phone now.

The -1 and -5 up until recently weren't that hard to find. ShopBB was selling unlocked Q10s through November, until they ran out. I'm not sure if AT&T still sells the -1, but they did carry it at one point.

The -2 may be hard to find because pretty much its only retailer has been Verizon, since this model was built for use on their networks.

So you have a decision to make--if you stick with Verizon and can get a -2, it will do quite well on European networks. But if you decide to go with AT&T, TMO, or one of their network-using MVNOs, you'd be better off getting a -1 or a -5.
