I have Kindle from Snap installed on my Q5. It takes at least 40 seconds to start up which is a big damper on any inclination to read. I have tried rebooting phone, ensuring no other background apps are consuming significant hardware resources, and even activated airplane mode just to qualitatively test if that helps, but to no avail. Does anyone have Kindle on a Q5 (perhaps Q10)? How long does it take to startup on your device?

With proclamations that Kindle will run on Passport, how does it perform on Passport in terms of startup and page transitions?

    Thanks!

I wish I had better news for you. All I can say is that Kindle sucks royally on BlackBerry 10.

I run it often on my Q10, but it is just barely functional.

The android version of Kindle from the Amazon app store runs ok on OS 10.2 but it runs super good on 10.3.1. The brightness control that never worked before finally works now too. Upgrade to 10.3.1 and use the android version of Kindle from the Amazon app store.

10.3 seems not an option on Q5.

What startup load times are you guys getting?

I use Kindle on my Z30 everyday. Even back to OS 10.1 on my Z10. It always ran good enough. But since updating to 10.3.1 my z30 has become a book reading machine.

Sure. The app runs but with the following deficiencies:
    1. Very slow start-up. Sometimes, it spontaneously closes itself before it opens the book drawer.
    2. Hypersensitivity to the spacebar. I like not having to touch the screen while reading, so I use the spacebar to advance pages. About a fifth of the time, the app advances two pages instead of one.
    3. Sometimes, the screen becomes non-responsive soon after the book drawer shows up. This is comparatively rare.

I don't use Blackberry, but found this while looking for a solution to the same problem with the Kindle app working slowly. Now, my experiment - My tablet was lagging & timing out when I used Kindle. Yesterday I got a new tablet & had the same problem. After uninstalling all Kindle app updates on both tablet devices, my Kindle app pops right up on both devices with the book I'm reading. I've concluded that the problem is somewhere in the Kindle updates. I wish the thought would have occurred to me Before I bought a new tablet!
