Why is my Blackberry Bold 9700 is not recognized by my computer?

My Blackberry Bold 9700 (V 6.0.0.668, platform 6.6.0.236) used to be able to sync with my laptop no problem. I had to get the computer wiped clean and ever since I have not been able to sync. When I plug my BB in, I receive the memo asking me USB, Charge, or Sync. The phone will charge, but it is not recognized by Blackberry Desktop Manager. I have downloaded the most recent version of BDM. The Blackberry isn't even recognized under Universal Serial Buss controllers. I have Media Card Support turned on as well. Please advise.
