Do you have the little BB logo on the top right of your screen, if not go into your settings in ABOUT, then hit the drop down menu, then go in and register device.

Yes i don't have my phone with me so pick through the options in the drop down and one will have the over flow menu on bottom right , the three dots, it should show up there.

Try a hard reset, by holding the volume up and down in together until you see the blackberry

Just noticed that BBM calling still works. Its the messages that don't work. And apps cannot connect error.

OK I know this may seem like a stupid question but we have to rule it out. Do you have data left on your plan? If you out of data, no messages will send. That BlackBerry logo in the top right means "Yes, Data"

    Edit, read previous messages.

Yes I have data I'm on a prepaid I run out of data only when credit is zero. But today I visited a branch of my service provider and learned that they do not support BlackBerry service. Strange how I was using BBM and all the services if they do not support BlackBerry service. And also I made sure before buying the passport, that I would have BBM working. But the thing is, that here in Malta there is no support for BlackBerry no one knows nothing about them. Not even Vodafone.

I don't believe there is anything like BB service anymore. So it should be working. While you were there did you try a new sim.
