Why are duplicate emails showing on my lock screen?

I have Gmail, have bee using the phone for a couple of months now and all has been great. All of a sudden this monring my lock screen started showing duplicates of all of my unread Gmail emails. I've deleted the account and re-did it several times to no avail. Any ideas or anyone with similar issues? I seen the double contacts issue but haven't been able to find much on the double emails.

A few days ago I had the same issue, but after half a day the phenomenon vanished just as silently as it appeared. BlackBerry 10 seems to have some self-healing capabilities that only take some... time to act.
