Why does a contact name with '&' display as '&' on a bb10?

when I receive an email from someone like: Chris & Anne it displays on my blackberry 10 as Chris & Anne. Is it possible to correct this?

I think the only way is to take the symbol out.

I also found, that weirdly, not every time, < also shows up like that.

Which app shows you that? I've only ever seen it in poorly programmed apps.

For me, right in the blackberry hub.
