My Z10 refuses to charge when plugged into a wall socket or laptop. It just shows a red exclamation mark over the battery when it is connected. I don't think its a charging port related problem because link recognizes it and i can transfer files. The problem is it doesnt charge.

Also could be that you are using other type of power cable instead of the blackberry one

It's shows that when the battery's temperature is too high or you're using a broken cable / connector.

I don't know if it could be due to not upgrading to the new os.

Do you have a spare battery that you can try, to rule out a bad battery? Since you can't USB charge from your laptop could the USB port be loose? I think it doesn't take much to damage the connection.
