Delete messages because your SIM is full? Just a wild guess here.

Turn your sim upside down and wait until some of the messages fall out and then reinsert.

I would imagine it is from SMS as those are the ONLY messages able to be stored on the SIM, and even then it is like only 15 to 20 messages that can be stored. Mind you BlackBerry does NOT store SMS on the SIM card so the issue was started from another phone I would say.
