Just wondering what process the Q5 uses when deleting files. I'm cleaning up my phone and deleting about 1500 MP3 files from the phone. It looks like it will take at least 1/2 an hour to complete!

Why? Is it actually communicating with my desktop for every file? This is actually making Microsoft look fast!

    Just wondering.

Let's see 1500 mp3 files are what....3-5MB each x 1500....you do that math. It take processing power to delete that stuff, no?

That's weird. off the phone or off an SD Card?

I've never deleted things in bulk - but never had an issue

Yeah, I know it's a huge amount of data but I was just surprised at how long it was taking to delete. I figured deleting should be pretty "mindless" for the processor.

It is on the SD card. I found that when I first synced, is spread half the files to the on-board memory and the other half to the SD card. I finally got that cleaned up. This is just a clean-up exercise. Somehow a bunch of my daughters music "infiltrated" my phone and need I say, it is NOT my preferred music!

Is it a class 10 card? Or class 6 or less?? The speed of the action is usually related to that.

Do you maybe have disk encryption activated? This makes the progress much slower.

You understand the difference between deleting and erasing stuff, no?
