Test your audio and microphone with BBVE. It sounds like a microphone hardware issue. Easy replacement in Z10...what type of device do you have?

I had this issue with my Z30, it tested perfectly in BBVE, but no audio was heard unless headphones were in, or speaker was used.

That's surprising. I had similar issue with Z10 and it failed the BBVE tests which led me to replace the mic.
What did your problem turn out be and how did you resolve it?

I bought a Q10 and gave my mother my Z30 as she doesn't have voice minutes.

There was a batch of them with that issue.

I'm not certain I was in that batch, as the device was purchased secondhand & had the tamper cover on one of the rear screws removed/damaged. So i'm assuming the screen was replaced and the microphone connection wasn't secured

I can't pass the BBVE test, so it must be the mic problem... also no voice on video recordings. As I found out the reason why other party could hear me on Speaker was that when on Speaker the other mic (next to the on/off button) is activated...
    So my question now is:
in my country i dont think i can find an original Blackberry service center, so if any of you know if the mic on Z10 is the same on any other android or other device?
Thanks Lusitano17 and all others for the feedback

Z10 uses same mic as Q10 and a few other BlackBerry devices including Curve 9720, 9320. Likely others too. Not certain about Android etc but suspect there is a broader use.

They are cheap on EBay and Amazon and most most phone repair shops should have them in stock.

Plenty of how to videos on Youtube to assist with replacement .
    Good luck.

On the same lines and because I couldn't find any thread pertaining to my issue, I'm requesting for suggestions here. I can't hear anything on my Z30 unless speakers are put on during a call. There were voice breakdowns intermittently for a few days but I disregarded those thinking they were network issues.

Could anyone help me with this?

As noted in original responses use BBVE to test your audio. Your situation certainly sounds like a hardware issue but go through the tests regardless.

Any drops or water exposure prior to your problem arising?
How is the audio with media, music or video?

It was definitely hardware issue. I checked with BBVE and failed audio earpiece test. I visited BlackBerry Expert Center and they replaced earpiece under an hour. There were no physical damages.

    Thanks for reaching out, though

Good to hear (no pun intended) that your problem was corrected. Hopefully it was a warranty repair and did not cost you.
