This is the backup that I had carried over from my old Q10, worked fine on the passport, now that I try to restore via LINK, device being detected, I get Restore Options
    Backup Folder: Documents\BlackBerry\Backup
    Loading the restore content...
Well i tried hundred times the blue circle is on....
About to give up on that damn phone...
    Help Please

How old is this backup from? Is the version of BB10 from the Backup the same as the version on the new phone?

Have you tried doing a Select Restore?

hi, i posted without having logged in... SO i click on restore device and it doesn't want to load the .bbb file from April 2016 on my new passport that is up-to-date with the latest OS 10 version. When I had done so my new passport in December 2016 it had worked but then I got the phone stolen and hadn't done a backup so I want to retrieve all my files from April 2016 on the passport i just bought! Thanks

You can't restore a 10.3.2 backup onto a device which already has 10.3.3. 10.3.3 isn't backward compatible to 10.3.2, unfortunately.

You can try the device switch option.... sometimes that worked better with a "new" device.

But as Robert said... there are incompatibilities between versions of BB10 separated by too many version numbers.

Thanks very much! I saw that as well the compatibility issue... Is there a way I can extract my photos/music from the .bbb file? I am planning to sell the passport then and get the Keyone or... an iphone :-(

Thanks Ragbert, so how do I retrieve all my photos and music from that backup? is it gone for good or shall I get a second-hand q5 or z10, and upload the backup to that phone? Have about 10 years of school / uni photo memories in that damn backup :-( I know I should have exported those to my laptop...

You can try using Link to only restore your files and not the apps or OS - I'm pretty sure you have a choice there (I'm not able to look at the moment).

Same issue here with the BB Classic and Link. I was having an issue updating the OS to 10.3.3 so I did a full backup and then reloaded the OS on the Classic. Then I go to restore the backup, get the spinning circle at "Loading the restore content..." I have all my contacts in that back up! How do I get them back on my Classic? I never synced them to outlook, always relied on the Link Back Ups. Help!
