    When I update my Blackberry Q10 on my desktop Blackberry link on Mac I get duplicates of all of my contacts and sometimes lose some contacts.

    If your contacts are tied to an email account, delete the account and reinstall. Or use a third party app like COntactsX to load your contacts.
