Try restarting the hub by swiping diagonally from the top right corner of the hub towards the centre of the screen five times.
Go to the hub settings, hub management and make sure that under text messages you show in both selected
Isn't he saying Texts are missing from the entire Hub not just the top level. Look at the screen shot, there's no Text Messages folder.
OP, do you have a Text Messages icon on one of your home screens? If so what happens if you tap it?

Yeah I did all that even after downloading the old text icon, nothing. Then did a restart and there it was, weird!

Even after I downloaded the text icon I'd select it and it would take me to the hub which text wasn't there, restarted my Z30, got'er now fellas. Thanks
