When will the BlackBerry KEYone be available for purchase directly from the major cellular carriers (in my case Verizon)?

    Probably never.

Sprint was the only U.S. carrier specifically mentioned to get it later this summer (assume September, be surprised if it's sooner).

    But no one else.

    So far.

The Classic, on the other hand, was avail. on Verizon but not on Sprint. Fingers crossed.

While Verizon may not officially release the KeyOne, the unlocked CDMA version of the phone (if it actually exists) will work on Verizon and also offer you a few advantages in not having to wait for updates to come from Verizon and to likely get less of the bloatware they love to install on their Android devices.

    Thanks for this!

I guess the next logical question is when will the unlocked CDMA KeyOne phones become available?

I've read elsewhere that the CDMA version should be available later in the summer - whenever that really means.

I also stopped into my local Verizon store last week to ask about the KEYone. The guy said several people had asked already (yay!) but that no announcement had been made about it to the staff yet. (booo)

But as long as only the Apples and non-BB Androids are on display in the Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, etc. stores, the masses will continue to buy those devices.

Amazon and Best Buy won't drive BlackBerry [Mobile] to success.
