If WhatsApp is a necessity, they simply move on and use supported devices.

WeChat: older version of 6.3.8.65 I believe is the best of the older versions but just remember, these are all very resource heavy on a Leap. They may be slow (includes Skype), buggy etc and if you install too many of these android apps (especially social/communication) you will be disappointed with the results. If I were you, and needed or wanted these to work properly, I would get an android or apple device. Good Luck.

ps. you can get almost any older android app version from ApkMirror.com in case you were not aware.
