BB10 apps are bar files. If you're asking in relation to converted bar files, as in apk to bar, then there is no point as BB10 can directly install. Unless you have a Playbook, then you would still need them.

However, if you're asking what's the point if bar files like the ones extracted from a debrick file - BB10 needs bar files to run the system. Android apps are merely an add-on.

Thanks to all. I am a BB 6, returning to BB after 3 years. Interesting to learn about OS 10. Have a Z30 for 2 weeks and loving it.
