What "should be" the manufacturing date of my new phone?

I m looking to buy a new BB Q5, but the phone is in the market from around a year, not sure if a lot of people in India have purchased it. My question is, ideally, what should be the manufacturing date of my phone?? For e.g. Should it be less than 6 months from now? Or is it fine if I purchase a 1 year old manufactured device. And also, do the new Q5 come with the updated OS??

As long as its new the date shouldn't matter, you will get prompted for any OS update out by your carrier.
