    Nothing, it's a sandboxed runtime.

I'm not sure of all the bad outcomes possible with Android apps.

What I can tell you is that you should be safe if you download apps/games by known devs from a reputable source, like Snap (BB10 client for Google Play store) or Amazon Appstore.

Here's some info I've shared before:
The Google Play store itself doesn't work on BB10; however there is a native BB10 app called Snap which is a Google Play client. All its content is directly from Google Play, but a developer has packaged it into a BB10 app.

There's also the Amazon Appstore, which will be included in OS 10.3 alongside BlackBerry World. You can get Amazon Appstore right now though from here:
    Amazon.com/GetAppstore

Here's some general info on using Android apps on BB10:

    Here's the thread on Snap:

And here's the free desktop program Sachesi which you can use to load Snap onto your Z10, since it's ironically not available in any app store:

This is how to use Sachesi:

If you want to try out other Android stores, see here for some suggestions:

A "bad" apk won't be much risk on a BB10 device due to the fact that we are running android in a run-time sand-boxed environment (basically keeps android apps running separately from the main BB10 OS). However that being said, if it were an actual android device, apk malware can be bad very bad, from stealing your private information to tracking your location. The possibility are endless like with a computer virus. But as mentioned, don't have to worry to much about this on BB10. Which is one (in my opinion) of the best features of Blackberry.

I love android apps, i think android app development and apps are great. But the privacy invasion/malware really bothers me. That's why no matter what as long as they exist i will us a Blackberry 10 device, the smoothest most intuitive platform with ability to run the worlds largest collection of apps.....and people say Blackberry 10 has no apps pssshhhhh

A bad android app can't access or damage the core OS, but it could steal your contact information, your location, or scan your files if you gave the app permission to access those things.
