Have a Passport a few hours old which immediately prompt me to do an OS update once it was connected to wifi. The update completed and then I placed the SIM card in it and did all the required setups after activating the card.

According to Blackberry Link and the OS check on the Passports device settings, I have the most current software available showing as 10.0.908.

Questions are; do I have the current software required for a Passport using Rogers?

Did I do the update correctly, while not having the SIM card activated?

Have I missed something during initial setup?

These are some questions I wouldn't mind some answers to or any advice or tips are appreciated.

Another issue would be SIM card adapters, if anybody has any information or can recommend a quality adapter this would also be very much appreciated.

    Thanks for any help.

You have the most up to date OS for Rogers right now. There are now autoloaders and Blitz files for 10.3.1.2576 which I have running beautifully on my Passport but you will have to be comfortable with learning to install. Just do a search on the forums for Autoloaders. If you are not up to installing, just wait for a new OTA update it should be along before too long --Maybe Good Luck and enjoy!

You can update with or without the sim card in your device and as far as adapters go, sorry I cannot answer that one except to say BE VERY CAREFUL with them as there have been several cases of them becoming jammed in the device. (But then again, that is probably why you asked). I have a NOOSY nano sim adapter to go with my z10 but I am too afraid to use it after hearing of so many horror stories!

Thanks for your help. I really only plan to update when released unless it's really necessary.
That's one of the reasons I was inquiring about SIM cars adapters, so I would be able to switch back to my older phone if any issues develop.

I was replying to Logger as he probably has an unlocked Passport. Check out this site: OS Upgrade and note that the release of 10.3.1 is still TBD (to be determined). It should be very soon tho!

Thanks again to all for the help.
I'm really not too concerned about the OS version as much as making sure that I've done everything correctly as far as setting up the new phone.

A real funny thing is that with no SIM card the Z10 working better than it ever has. Don't know why but it's faster and a whole lot more responsive to the touch. At least only using on wifi. I definitely will not be totally retiring this phone!

Yes, you will always get OS updates sooner than the Carrier push-one advantage to buying direct.
