I just read on GSMArena that ASTRO slide is almost dead.
    What is left?
    Any safe PK phone nowadays?
How is Titan Pocket so far?
    The latest update it got?
Any hope for a new PK phone from Punkt?

    Thank you...

    Nothing secure.

But a Chinese outfit named Unihertz makes a few cheapies - Titan OG, Pocket, and Slim.

Other than Unihertz, is there any phones with a physical keyboard? And do you think that Punkt could revive that Passport like phone?

    Nothing recent, no.

I have a hard time believing anyone else would be dumb enough to invest their money in a pkb device.

Edit: As per the objection noted below, I am referring to companies - not users.

There ... now you've said it! Do you feel better now? Those of us who bought a PKB phone are "Dumb" ... per you. But of course, you believe Apple and Samsung are treated "Special" by the Chinese Communist government!
You keep believing your fairy tale!

Not really sure what that even means. How are they treated special? Apple and Samsung have to abide by the Chinese Communist Party Government rules if they sell their phones in China. Just like every one else who decides to do business in that country. In fact, Apple had to provide an in-county server for the government as part of the deal to be there.

Samsung currently has less than 2% of the mobile phone business in China, and they stopped manufacturing their phones there in 2019.

But, for the rest of the world, none of that matters as we aren't affected.

What point are you trying to make?

And I think Conite meant that no company would bother investing in the development of a pkb phone today. There's just not enough interest to make it profitable. Businesses aren't in it to lose money.

No, I said a company who believes there is a viable business model for a pkb device is dumb.

Then he should spend more time proof reading because his post can certainly be taken either way.

The poster I was responding to was specifically asking about Unihertz, Punkt, and perhaps "anyone" else.

Yes, still actively being manufactured. It's backordered on their website but I just ordered one on ebay.
