I'm debating if I should wait for Verizon branded keyone or just buy one from amazon or best buy. What would be the reason or advantages to wait for Verizon branded as far as updates, manufacturer warranty etc. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

There won't be one, hence the reason for an unlocked CDMA handset.

Verizon has not announced any plans to offer the KEYone. So you might be waiting a long time or forever for a Verizon branded one.
