hi there! I can't seem to find info anywhere about removing or finding issues on my classic. I suspect a virus or malware - am unable to use my browser for searches as I get redirected to random sites and such. Any advice? Is there a good app for protection and cleaning of these things for the classic?

there shouldn't be any, if you just clear cache and do a reboot. But if it makes you feel better ... https://appworld.blackberry.com/webs...92890/?lang=en

It happens all the time. What would the router have to do with it? (serious question)

Is it happening on both WiFi and Mobile network?
If the answer is just WiFi then your router might have been infected. Which might change your DNS server. Try resetting your router to the default settings and or change the DNS server to a trusted one.

Just close all your tabs, then go to Settings > Privacy and Security. At the bottom, tap on "Clear Cookies and other Data" (and Clear History" too as you obviously have the culprit in there). Close the browser, restart the phone.

That said, your traffic can also be reshaped between your phone and your destination by an infected router at home or at your provider...

Ok, so I have done all the cleaning etc and restarted as you mentioned. I have pressed the reset button on my router. Will see what happens. This is a problem when connected to wifi as well as when using the network through my provider.

I think (fingers crossed) rebooting the router helped. I still don't get how it happens in the first place - but if it means I can use my phone properly - yahoo!! Thanks again!
