    I installed viber on my passport without any issues. However I have a problem that after installing it and when I click on it in order to activate it. The it immediately shuts down!!!

    Can you please tell me what the problem is and how to solve it??

    You need to install Viber 5.6.5, as this is the only stable version that works on BB

    Thank you for that. However now I have another issue. Since I had that viber I deleted that version and downloaded the version you recommended. Now after I it doesn't install it saying I have newer version of viber. I uninstalled the new version even deleted the apk file from the file manager and still the same. Any ideas? Advises on how to solve this?

    I deleted the apk file and the installed version from everywhere and still tells me the same. I am using BlackBerry 10 os 10.3.2.2836????

    PPSE85 likely has the 2873/2836 Runtime bug which 7Mike was referring to......he needs to install the ART patch described in the link I directed him to.

    It's best if you don't confuse the situation.

    Guys I would like to thank you very much. However even the BlackBerry run time for android is downloaded, did reboot,opened the app and it has been more than one houre as initializing please wait!!!! Now what? Factory reset?

    Don't try to open the runtime app....simply reboot the device after installing the app.

    Wait a few minutes after device restarts and then delete your installed Viper app.

    You can then try to install the Viber version recommended to you.

    Good people....thank you for your support I don't know why the above solution didn't work. I did backup to my phone,did security wipe, and installed the viber 5.6.5 is installed and working perfectly

    It happens the same to me. Even after installing Version 5.6.5.1873, which supposedly is the right version for the BB Passport, I keep having an "ERROR" message after confirming my phone number. Sadly, I'm still not able to use this app on my passport.
    Anyone has a solution for this "problem"?

    Just telling you that I've tried everything: security wipe and instalation of Viber after that. I also have duly updated the ART, etc., etc.. with no "light at the end of the tunel". Thanks.

    I finally succeeded to find a solution:
    - I did AGAIN a Security Wipe to my Passport OG (this step I believe is very important so you don't have again the "ERROR " message from Viber when trying to confirm you telephone number)
    - From a previous backup file I restored all data but the one related to Viber (I was moving from the Z30 to Passport)
    - From the Internet, I downloaded the APK file of Viber version 5.6.5. (remember that, on "Settings/App Manager/Installing Apps", you must switch ON the "Allow Apps from Other Sources to be Installed" as Viber 5.6.5 is an Android version)
    - I installed the file, confirmed my telephone number and...voil !!! Viber is running on my Passport with no problems at all so far. I can now message and call other Viber users (free). VIBER OUT CALL is working fine, too (I haven't tested while roaming yet, but I believe it will work, too.)
    I hope this information can be of importance to someone out there experiencing the same problems I did.
