I have a blackberry q10.. I got this software update 10.3.2.2474..it showed me that it is 441 mb to download..after I started updating in step 2 at 90% it stopped showed an error and got cancelled.. I tried again still same error..3rd time my phone rebooted during update and now the update occupies 1gb space in my internal memory without being installed..also the system takes up a whooping 8.5 gb space..after this problem now 9.5gb space..i do not have any media files on the device memory.. does the system of q10 actually use 8gb space? Somebody please help me somehow get rid of this 1 gb extra space..its highly iritating because now every now and then I get notifications that the device memory is full..help guys..sorry for the long post..

Someone mentioned you can use CCleaner android app to remove those extra files. Or you can use an autoloader to wipe the phone and install a fresh OS.
System storage shouldn't be higher than 3gigs. But using OTA updates will use way more system storage than it should. Apparently it's not deleting older files and installing the OS next to the old OS, instead of over writting it. Or it's not deleting the download after it installs. And there's no way to remove it manually.
Probably the second option. Either way it's using twice the storage it should be.

No not stuck at all. You just need to reload the OS with an autoloader or even a factory reset with link. Make sure you backup your data first.

The factory reset will wipe your phone and install the latest OS which should be 2639. You can use link to backup and restore the backup after the reset. It's mostly so you don't have to redownload apps and enter your accounts again. If you don't mind doing that manually then you don't need a backup.

With this backup will all the internal memory data come back? Like calendar entries, contacts, accounts etc? Also is it advisable to remove the memory card while factory reset..and what about the apps? Because I have installed a lot of apps from 1mobile market and amazon of which the apk installation file I've deleted because of the memory issue..

Do you mean the reload option from link? Also what about the apps? Because I installed a lot of them from 1mobile market and have deleted the installation apk file because of the space consumption issue..additionally will the backup save me all the contacts, calendar entries, remember app entries etc?

Whenever you use an autoloader, security wipe or a reset with link it will wipe everything from the device memory. If you have things encrypted it'll lock you out of it all. So you'll have to decrypt your SD card first.
You can leave the SD card in, I've never experienced an issue altho others have.
You can do the backup with link, I don't use them I just readd everything manually. You can save those apks to SD card or cloud or wherever.
