I have a Q10 from Verizon with a SIM card for my phone number. I just purchased a new Z30 from Verizon, and the rep said he was sending a SIM with it "just in case."

So do both of these SIM cards have the same number/account tied to them (I only have one account with Verizon, one phone number) and if so, can I have a card in each phone and have them both on at the same time?

One of the two SIM cards is deactivated; if your Q10 is still working, it's the one in the Z30 that is not active. So you can do one of two things: either transfer your Q10 SIM into the Z30 and do a device swap/new device activation (whatever it is that Verizon makes you do,) or activate the Z30 with the new SIM in it, and the one in the Q10 will deactivate.
