Good evening, everyone. I was considering buying a BlackBerry smartphone. In your opinion, which one does better represent BlackBerry: Q10 or Bold 9900? Classic should be the real answer, but we don't know the details yet, price and availability in primis.

More in detail, shoud I go for the trackpad or BB 10.x? BlackBerry Hub, the Android and Amazon apps and Blend are a good deal and a Q10 can be bought at a good price in Italy (around 120-150 euros on eBay). But I'm also wondering if buying an older Bold 9900 could be a better solution to enter the BlackBerry ecosystem.

They're both true BlackBerry's. The choice is between one who's already reached EOL, or one who's OS is just starting to become robust IMO.

Like all these threads though, you need to choose what's best for you. No one else can make that decision for you.

Classic is a combination of 9900 and Q10. So go for Classic only. But if you want a unique thing, then Passport is the better option.

BB10 is the future of BlackBerry handsets. If you want to be a part of that future, get the Q10.

I know. For the Classic, I want to know the price before setting my mind about it. I tried the Passport at the italian press presentation some day ago and I really enjoyed it. The price is just too high right now FOR ME.

For many the 9900 is the last of what they liked about BlackBerry. The Classic is TRYING to bring some of it back... but for many BIS was important feature that isn't coming back. Only time will tell if any other future BlackBerry smartphone is able to outsell the 9000 Bold line.

Just go for Q10. OS10 is the future and BB is improving a lot with it. You'll fall in luv with it that easily. Trust me, keyboard of Q10 is awesome. A perfect classic feel u'll get. Just go for it.

Heard around some speculations, that Classic would be priced 10 to 15 % lower than Passport. Not much difference though.

John Chen has made it quite clear in a letter that Classic is for the legacy BBOS users. This indicates features like similar keyboard shortcuts, track pad usage, menu button, back button and OS will obviously be 10.3 or higher.

It would be interesting to compare the keyboard with 9900 and Q10.

Just wait for the official release of specs which will be by Dec, 2014. I hope so.

In my opinion best BB is the 9900 but I should well imagine that Classic will be best on release because of the numerous enhancements of the os 10.3 and importantly the toolbelt - the best of what we all respected BlackBerry for with the top os. I really can't wait for the Classic

The q10 is the easy choice there. Software features that may be missing on the q10 can be implemented later, bbos has reached a ceiling. My 9930 was a good phone back when I used it but I fired it up today and was immediately brought back to the days of frustration it. It froze for about a minute upon boot up. I had no apps running that weren't native and I got nothing but the hour glass. I don't miss the tool belt at all. To miss bb10 was meant for gesture navigation, a step forward. The tool belt feels like a step back to me. The tool belt is ultimately preference though. Anyway the q10 has superior hardware and software and will receive updates.
