Hey guys and gals. I have a z30 on 10.2 on vzw. Want to try this app but there are so many different readers to plug into the car I'm not sure which one to get. Anyone use this app and what readers do you recommend? Thanks

what does this app do? Does it read something on the car itself?
All i can say is to try several to see if they work for you.

No lol it would be pretty expensive to just buy a bunch of random ones. It the app shows the error codes that are making your check engine light come on. I'll do more digging, just thought someone here might have the right one handy.

Any of those Bluetooth OBD2 ELM327 readers on eBay from China would work. I have a really old V1.2 one but I think the latest is V1.5. My V1.2 works with Torque but doesn't work with another Windows 8 app, which seems to require a higher version due to a newer set of commands.

Used it to reset the CEL on my friend's Buick, works great.

    I have two which work.

1: RioRand RD9 - do a search on that and you will find. Works very well but is quite big. About $20 on amazon.

2: ICAR from Vgate - very small unit. I had more issues getting it going at first but eventually did. I bought 3 and gave two away as gifts. They all worked. About $25.

In all cases they were working with a Z30 and tried on a VW Gulf Diesel and Honda Civics.

Make sure to get one that has an on/off switch so you can leave it plugged in.

I'm using a BlackBerry Z30 on OS 10.3.2.556. I purchased‎ a VGate ELM327 on Amazon, and bought Torque Pro from BlackBerry World.

When I plug the ELM327 into my ODB port and search for Bluetooth devices, I see the ODBII device, and it accepts the password of 1234.

But from there that's all I can do. If I try connecting to it I get an error, and the Torque app can't find the adapter.

Many others have said the ELM327 seems to work fine... Am I missing something?
