I keep face dialing. The screen is not turning off when taking a call. The proximity sensor checks out fine in BBVE. Tried pocket safe app, but not happy with it. I'm just wondering if it may have some thing to do with the software as the hardware seems to check out. Please advise. Thanks.

Yes you can change your OS, just do a back up through BB link and then load a new OS with either sachesi or using an auto loader.

There are a number of ways to do it... most simple might be to use LINK to do a Factory Reset.

Or if you don't have access to a computer... you could try a Security Wipe.


But you'll want to backup and data.....

Tried this and it didn't work. Just to be sure before I try and get a new phone, The screen should black out when putting the phone up to your ear during a call, correct ?

Yes it should, but might be the OS

I'm on 10.3.2.556. I'm assuming this is the latest version. Can I revert back to an older version and see if that was the problem ?

you could try upgrading your Os to 10.3.2.2339 its been a pretty solid Os.

How would I do that? Does the OS depend on your carrier? I have Verizon.

Any luck getting your proximity sensor going again when on a call? I'm having the same issue on my Z30. Was running 2339. Used link to reload the os, no restore. Problem persists. Using PocketSafe now. It works, but I would much rather have the screen dim on a call like it used to. BBVE shows sensor is fine. Ideas anyone?
