    Is anyone else having an issue in which the text messages app stops functioning completely?
    Here's how it goes:
    - Open app
    - Type text, press send, nothing happens, doesn't send, doesn't show text sent in conversation
    - Close and reopen app, still same
    - close and reopen different contact, still stuck on previous contact
    -wont stop until I restart phone

    tried restarting the hub? 5 swipes diagonally from top right down to middle left of screen - although rebooting phone does same thing but this way you don't have to restart the phone. Not sure why that's doing that unless the text messages are really REALLY long

    Yeah not even that trick does it. I do have a lot of contacts just sitting there so that could be a factor, but that shouldn't be a factor if you think of it. Texts are generally short.

    There is lots of threads on the issue.

    What is your OS version? This was solved, I believe in 10.2.1

    Latest official, 10.2.1.3062.
    I hope it gets fixed in the coming update because that would ruin the party for me...

    Yes, I had the same issue as the OP (but I only text one person). I had over a year of message history with a lot of pictures too. Had to delete the conversation to fix it.

    Temporary work around is to delete long message conversations and try not to open a message while another one is coming in at the same time.
