    I wouldn't have given it back to him. Now you have no proof that you gave him money. I'm sure he didn't give u a receipt for it. And it's not worth the aggravation of taking it to court. I would've kept it, called the police and made a report. And take it from there. Touchy situation if it's someone you know though

    You can try going to the police and make a report but u have no proof right now.

    Lol, I can't advise you on that. If you gave it back to the cops, you did the right thing. Like I said, I don't think taking it to small claims court would be worth ur time. Maybe put a "hit" out on the guy, just like they do in the mobster movies...lol....
    But seriously, you did the right thing and MY opinion.....you lost your money. I hope tour not an acquaintance of the guy you bought it from. That will make for some awkward times!!

    When the cost of an item is far less than what the retail price is. I would very suspicious of it being stolen or fake.
